D.W.A. Inc. State Men's Selection criteria for 2013.
The Men's State Squad will be selected and announced at the conclusion of the Men's State Teams Championships in 2013.
How do we select the players for the squad and are there any automatic selections into the squad.
1: No there would be no automatic selection into the squad all players would be selected on merit.
2: To be selected into the 2013 Men's State Squad all players would be evaluated on their past
performance, present form, ability to be a Team Player, value to the team and commitment to the
teams aims.
3: Some of the things the selectors will be taking into account when considering players is, attendance at State Ranked Events, Past performance as a State Player, Past performance as a State Squad Member, Ability to be part of a team and fit in with the other team members, a commitment to improve their own game and help others within their team to improve.
4: The Selectors reserve the right to add players to the State Squad who in their opinion deserve to be included; they also reserve the right to cut any player/s from the squad for whatsoever reason.
That reason would be given to the player concerned by the Chairman of Selectors.
5: Any player/s wishing to know why he had not been selected into the State Squad may only seek that advice from the State Men's Chairperson of Selectors; none of the other selectors are permitted to do this.
6: Once selected into the State Team Players must realize that they have to make a commitment to the Team, the Council do not send players away for a holiday, they send them away to win the Teams Championships and every other Title that they can. Those that wish to treat the Championships as a holiday should not accept their selection into the squad.
7: All players once selected into the State Squad shall be treated equally and without favour.

Another change to the Events Calendar.
Sorry to do this to you all again but there are changes to the Events
Calendar 2013.
On July 20th the "Wyatt Lower Grade Singles" that was to be played at
Wundowie will now be played at the Coolbellup Hotel.
Please check July and August as dates for Australian Seniors Championships
have been changed.
Championships will now commence on Friday 26th July and finish on Friday 2nd
August.
Pacific Cup has been moved from Saturday 27th July to Sunday 3rd August,
also dates for D.A. Mid-Year Meeting have been changed and departure date of
State Teams.
In October Mandurah Men have moved the Mandurah Men's event from Saturday
October 12th to Saturday October 5th and the Peel Classic/WA Masters from
Sunday October 13th to Sunday October 6th.
Would all Secretaries, etc please make note of these changes in your Diary's
thank you.
Sorry to keep doing this to you but changes unfortunately do happen and at
least you are advised of them.

2013 Men's Teams Championships Format
As accepted at our D.A.G.M. the Men's Teams Championships will be played by teams of four (4) players this year.
Please find set out below the games format that will be used for this event in 2013, the format will be re-evaluated after the event for it's effectiveness.
All games will be played in the order as they appear in this notice.
All Associations are reminded that nominations for the Men's Metro Teams Championships close on
Friday 29th March.

Once again another change to the Events Calendar, this was an
oversight by me as I was told of the change during the West Coast Classic
but did not make a note of it.
September the Ladies Inter-Association will now be played on Saturday and
Sunday 21st and 22nd September not on 28th & 29th.
Association Secretary's (especially in the Ladies Associations) please make
a note of this change in your Diary's.

SELECTION QUALIFICATION CRITERIA FOR STATE SQUAD NOMINEES
Players wishing to nominate to participate in the State Trials must meet the following Criteria:
1. Must play in the State Teams Championships representing their Parent Association
2. Would be expected to play in the Metropolitan or Country Teams Championships
3. Must have played in 3 ranked singles
4. Must play in a weekly competition for an affiliated Association
5. The first trial on July 28th and 29th will be an elimination trial where the Selectors will
select the final group to go forward to the 2nd trial on August 4th and 5th
6. Players will be selected on ability and overall performance
Players should be aware that if selected in the State Team they must be prepared to be available for any commitment the State Captain and Manager has set. The weekend of August 18th and 19th has been locked in for all State players and Officials to travel to Albany and this will be a compulsory weekend.
We encourage all players to play darts for their associations in metros/country and State Championships for their Associations. We also realise that due to unforeseen circumstances some players may not be able to fulfil those weekends and our aim is to give players opportunity to excel to state level.
Selectors have the right to include players they consider eligible to participate.

3.01: All players’ attire shall conform to the good image of the sport.
Ladies: Dress, Slacks, Skirt, Dress Jeans (Black Only), Tailored Shorts, Shirt/Blouse with collar and sleeves.
Proper footwear must be worn at all times, open toed shoes; thongs, scuffs or sandals must not be worn.
Men: Trousers, Shirt with sleeves, Dress Jeans (Black Only), Dress Shorts, if dress shorts are worn walk
Socks must be worn. Proper footwear must be worn at all times open toed shoes; thongs, scuffs or sandals
must not be worn.
3.02: In all RANKED EVENTS the wearing of jeans and shorts is prohibited.
3.03: UNACCEPTABLE ATTIRE:
Tank Tops, Singlet’s, Bike Shorts, Hot Pants, Leggings, Jeans with holes, cuts, etc in them, whether Dress
Jeans or not. Any Shirts, Jackets, T/Shirts or tops with crude or offensive designs or writing on them, Track
Pants.
The Council or their organisers can refuse any dress considered unsuitable.
3.04: Where medical conditions necessitate the wearing of an attire that does not conform to the above rule, then
specific permission must be obtained from the Council appointed organisers.
3.05: No headgear shall be worn, without the prior permission of the Council appointed organisers, e.g. A Sikh
would qualify for such permission.
3.06: Players are permitted to wear sweatbands on their wrists.
3.07: All players representing the Council in any darts events, interviews and presentations must wear the Council approved playing attire.
3.08: Any player not complying with rule 3.07 will repay all payments, airfares and expenses paid by the Council.
