The “Best of the West” Challenge is a tournament for teams of Five players. Any team can be put together from within your association by adhering to the requirements below.
‘B’ Grade teams average cannot exceed 300.
‘A’ Grade teams have no average.
Women’s average cannot exceed 220 and only 1 State player allowed per team.
12 ‘A’ Grade teams, 12 ‘B’ Grade teams and 12 women’s teams are required.
36 teams will take part with entry fees to be pre-paid and pre-nominated and are as follows:-
‘A’ Grade – $225.00 Per Team entry fee – $45.00 per player
‘B’ Grade – $225.00 Per Team entry fee – $45.00 per player
Women – $225.00 Per Team entry fee – $45.00 per player
Each Grade will have their own competition section and Prize Pool Payouts will be the same for all divisions. (*Subject to each division having 12 teams)
‘A’ Grade – Winners $1,000 + trophy & Gold Medals
‘A’ Grade – Second $500 + Silver Medals
‘A’ Grade – Third & Fourth $250 + Bronze Medals
‘B’ Grade – Winners $1,000 + trophy & Gold Medals
‘B’ Grade – Second $500 + Silver Medals
‘B’ Grade – Third & Fourth $250 + Bronze Medals
Women’s – Winners $1,000 + trophy & Gold Medals
Women’s – Second $500 + Silver Medals
Women’s – Third & Fourth $250 + Bronze Medals
The format for ‘A’ Grade is:
5 games of 501 best of 3 for the Singles followed by a triples game 601 best of 3 and a doubles game 601 best of 3. (All 5 players to take part in doubles and triples, no one player can play in both).
Each game won earns your team a point. Therefore, if you win all five singles, the doubles and the trebles you get seven maximum points. The team with the most points over the two days play wins the ‘A’ Grade event.
The format for ‘B’ Grade is:
5 games of 501 best of 3 for the Singles, followed by a triples game 601 best of 3 and a doubles game 601 best of 3.(All 5 players to take part in doubles and triples, no one player can play in both).
Each game won earns your team a point. Therefore if you win all 5 singles, the doubles and the trebles you get 7 maximum points. The team with the most points over the two days play wins the ‘B’ Grade event.
The Women’s format is:
5 games of 501 best of 3 for the Singles, followed by a triples game 601 and a doubles game 501.(All 5 players to take part in doubles and triples, no one player can play in both).
Each game won earns your team a point. Therefore if you win all five singles, the doubles and the trebles you get seven maximum points. The team with the most points over the two days play wins the Women’s event.
There will be Eleven matches over the weekend, Six to be played on the Saturday and Five to be played on the Sunday, followed by presentations shortly after the last match.
Team Nominations to be in and paid for by Friday 20 January 2023, the weekend prior to the tournament.

Doors open 8.30am and all teams registration’s to be in by 9.15am with a ‘Toe the Oche’ start time of 9.30am both days.
Each match is predicted to be approximately 1&1/2 hours long.
Food & Drink available all day so no outside food and drink will be allowed to be brought into the venue.
Dress code to be adhered to:
No thongs or open toed shoes, No singlets or tee shirts, no Jeans or jean-type skirts/pants allowed, no shorts or boardies, no shirts displaying aggressive, abusive or racist slurs, no caps or hats to be worn whilst at the oche.
Players dart shirts, dark pants, and general smart attire will be accepted.
The winning Graded team of each division will hold the trophy for 12 months and then return it for the next year’s event. Each team will be responsible for the safe keeping and condition of the trophies and will be accountable should any damage, loss or mishap take place.
