Wyatt Challenger – Event 3

Hello all and welcome to the wrap up of event number 3 of 8 played Saturday, March 18th 2023. We had an outstanding turn up for event 3 of the 8 qualifiers with 114 players across the 4 divisions – this included 18 new players.

Some numbers:

  • 72 of the 182 players to have played an event have played all 3 – almost 40% of players.
  • In 2022 after 3 events each player had averaged 1.21 events played compared to 2023 with each player attending 2.04 events. This is 41% increase year on year!
  • 105 (180’s) have been hit in the 3 events by 43 players. 23.7% of all players to have played at least one event.

Highest finish for event 3 was hit by Kevin Chappell with a 160. The finish to beat still remains 167 hit by Josh Howie.

Divisions 1-3 are sponsored and supported by DartsWA while the premier division is sponsored and supported by Ellenbrook Transport. Without this support events like these would not be possible.

The players participated in the 4 divisions – Premier – 16 players, Division 1 – 30 players, Division 2 – 40 players and Division 3 – 28 players. This was the third event of 8 to complete the preliminaries prior to the finals starting where the Top Qualified 16 in each division will play off in the Grand Final on Saturday the 11th November 2023 at the Belmont Sports & Rec. However, you must have played in at least 6 or 75% of the events to be eligible to play. Remember those who have played at least 6 events and are not in the Top 16 will be elevated into the 16 if higher points players are not qualified.

As discussed please remember the Darts WA dress code required at these and future events. This can be found on the DWA website.

Like usual; the event was played in a competitive yet sportsmanlike manner which is fantastic to see. Outstanding! Thanks and look forward to seeing everyone at Wyatt Series Event 4 on 6th May 2023 at Belmont Sport
