Kyle Anderson Memorial under 18’s Weekend
Saturday, we saw 24 youngsters’ line up to participate in the Kyle Anderson junior doubles.
This was a drawn doubles with many of the top players drawing a younger less experienced junior player. The attitude of the more experienced players to their partner was amazing. A big thank you to you all for encouraging these young players. Their smiles said it all.
The ages of the players went from 8 to 17.
Winners of the boy’s doubles were Mitchell Galby who partnered Ocean Turner, the 8 year old. One of the memorable parts of the game was when Mitch left double 20 and little Ocean pegged it first dart, much to the delight of all.
Runners up in the doubles were the pairing of Charlie Dinnison and Anthony Parker this was Anthony’s first competition at this level.
In the girls doubles Samara Ugle paired with 10 year old first time Azariah Bin Omar and finished the winners with Brianna Picket and first timer 11 year old Jazmine Lyons the runners up.
We finished the day off with a mixed triples which the players enjoyed and the winners were KJ Parker, Kayden Dunster and Samara Ugle and the runners up were Junior Turner, John Egan (another first timer) and Brianna Pickett.
Sunday was the big day with the WDF ranked Kyle Anderson Memorial Singles.
This was played in the right spirit with everyone working hard to be the winner. There were a few upsets on the way but the eventual finalists gave it their all with Naoise Coughlan winning after a hard fought final against Junior Turner.
The girls also put in a great effort with Samara Ugle winning and Destiny Bin Omar runner up.
The boys’ beginners group put heart and soul into their competition with Brock Blackman taking out the winners’ award from Bailey Lyons.
An encouragement award was granted to Azariah Bin Omar and Ocean Turner for their great effort in their first junior competition.
The presentations were carried out by Kyles Dad – Norm and the junior officials.
A great weekend all round a very sincere thank you to Dwayne Galby and Pit to Port for their generous sponsorship.
